A Simple Equation for Analysis of Nonuniform Transmission Lines

چکیده
The solution to the telegrapher equations is often presented as a D’Alembert expression for the voltage in terms of the voltage at a previous time or for the current in terms of the current at a previous time. In this paper, we present a complete solution for the coupled set of transmission-line equations such that the voltage or current is in terms of both the previous time voltage and current amplitudes. The key features of these equations are: they require only the initial voltage and current amplitudes, positiveand negative-direction traveling waves do not have to be identified, they are valid on a nonuniform transmission line, and they are related to the frequency-domain -parameter equations and the D’Alembert expressions for coupled functions. A method is presented for evaluating this set of equations numerically and results are given for a transmission-line filter and for a transmission line with a nonuniform section.

An SPICE compatible model for multiple coupled nonuniform lossless transmission lines (TL's) is presented. The method of the modeling is based on the steplines approximation of the nonuniform TLs and quasi-TEM assumptions. Using steplines approximation the system of coupled nonuniform TLs is subdivided into arbitrary large number of coupled uniform lines (steplines) with different characteristi...

A method is proposed for analysis of arbitrarily loaded lossy and dispersive nonuniform single or coupled transmission lines. In this method, all the per-unit-length parameters or matrices of the single or coupled lines and also the voltages and currents along the length of them are expanded in Taylor’s series. The solutions of voltages and currents are obtained after finding unknown coefficien...
متن کاملEffects of nonuniform cables on the propagation and coupling processes at high frequencies
This paper deals with nonuniform transmission lines which are excited at high frequencies. Networks of those lines are formed and they are described by the BLT–equation. The essential ingredients in this equation are the scattering and the propagation supermatrices. For our investigations we derive these quantities from the product integral solution of generalized telegrapher’s equations. The m...
